“This responds to your request for performance feedback on our project to retrofit a warehouse for specialized use by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Fairfield. As general contractor, GC Partners was honest, dutiful and on time.
Considering the gravity of the task those words sound hollow. They should not. This was a 125,000 square foot structure in need of major upgrades to accommodate the distinct demands of the Federal Government. In this effort, GC Partners dove into the massive project scope to ascertain reasonable cost and provide quick numbers enabling Initial bids in short order.
Federal procurement is intense and, in this case, extremely competitive. Government expectation for swift turn-around is often unreasonable. Still, GC Partners’ effort prevails and, at Final offer, they held close to their original number. This was key in our ability to win in this low-bid competitive situation.
The task did not end there. Delivering the product which netted a $9 million 15-year lease depended on maintaining sub focus, containing cost overruns and addressing oversights within budget. These tasks were performed with professional acumen.
